What We Believe
We believe the Bible is God’s true Word. We believe in one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ is God’s Son, born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died for our sins, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory.
Jesus’ sacrifice is our only way to be saved. We follow water baptism and remember Jesus’ sacrifice through weekly communion.
Baptism gives us the Holy Spirit to help us live a godly life. We believe in the resurrection: the saved will have eternal life, and the unsaved will face judgment. God wants all people to live in unity as one Church.
One must believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God (John 3:16). This results from hearing the Word of God (see above) and is stated as essential to salvation.
Hebrews 11:6 – And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
Repentance is a change of mind which causes one to turn away from sinful practices.
Acts 2:38 – Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 17:30 – Therefore, having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent.
This is an outward confession of faith in Jesus as the Son of God.
Romans 10:9 – that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
Mark 16:16 – He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
Acts 2:38 – Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Following the obedience of these commands we believe it is important that the Christian live faithfully
Revelations 2:10 – Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.
